ComicCon Livermore Returning to Livermore Valley Arts This June

Livermore, CA – (May 16, 2025) – Following a sensational reception from the past two summers at Livermore Valley Arts, LVA is once again bringing ComicCon Livermore to The Bankhead on Saturday, June 28. A place where fandoms collide and imagination knows no bounds, this year’s event will include a Costume Contest on stage, Tournaments with Games of Livermore and King Kong Comics, Interactive Comic Art, Face Painting, Photo Booth, 3-D Printing Demo by Jeremiah Low as Iron Man, and air brush demo by Joel Salinas III. Unlike some other ComicCons, this Tri-Valley celebration is free and open to the public. Of special note this year, lead writer for the comic strip character Greedy Greg, Seth Singleton will be at ComicCon Livermore 2025, John Morris, the voice of Andy in Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and Toy Story 3, will also be returning as a special guest, and the afternoon will end with a special, appropriately themed ticketed movie experience for all ages, with Galaxy Quest (1999) being screened in a special event in The Bankhead in the late afternoon. The public is invited to experience this thrilling afternoon at the Bankhead Theater in Downtown Livermore.

This year’s ComicCon Livermore event promises to be an exhilarating celebration of all things geek culture, showcasing a vibrant tapestry of artists in all genres, including graphic novel, manga, crime/noir, sci-fi, horror, fantasy, slice of life, adventure, humor, and romance. In addition to showcasing the artists and the previously mentioned cosplay contest, anime and toy vendors, and special guest appearances, ComicCon Livermore will be the ultimate destination for fans of all ages to come together and celebrate the magic of comics. Vendors and exciting activities to look for also include King Kong Comics and Games, Games of Livermore, henna art, and art demonstrations. Guests are invited to grab their capes, dust off their masks, and get ready to showcase their art for ComicCon Livermore! O’Hana ComicCon will be on the Bankhead Plaza with toy anime and collectibles, and comic con vendors.

Join the Adventure of a Lifetime (Again)! Galaxy Quest (1999) is a wildly funny, heartwarming sci-fi satire that’s become a cult classic for a reason. When the washed-up stars of a 1970s space TV show find themselves mistaken for real heroes by a group of desperate aliens, they’re thrust into an actual intergalactic conflict, armed with nothing but their old catchphrases and cheesy special effects. What follows is a brilliant blend of comedy, nostalgia, and space-age action that lovingly spoofs fandom culture while celebrating the power of belief, teamwork, and second chances. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or seeing it for the first time—by Grabthar’s hammer, don’t miss it on the big screen at The Bankhead at 4:30pm on June 28; tickets for this all-ages film are just $10!

The beautiful Bankhead Theater is located at 2400 First Street, Livermore. Artists and vendor submissions are still being accepted for this day of adventure, creativity, and family fun. To reserve a spot, visit LivermoreArts.org. This one-of-a-kind free afternoon promises to delight kids and adults alike, with out-of-this-world excitement and entertainment. ComicCon Livermore will be an incredible day of fun with various activities that will engage and inspire all attendees, shaping an unforgettable afternoon of fun and creativity. The public is invited to share in this perfect-for-the-summer event at The Bankhead.
