Nominated for eight 2010 Drama Desk Awards, the Broadway musical adaptation of these beloved, nostalgic characters is equal parts creepy, kooky, and hilarious, and is the perfect spooky good time for the whole family to enjoy. The Addams Family will play for seven (7) performances, January 17—February 1, 2026, at the beautiful Bankhead Theater located at 2400 First Street in Downtown Livermore. Tickets are on sale now online at LivermoreArts.org.
About The Addams Family
With music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk-winner Andrew Lippa and book by Academy Award-winner Marshall Brickman and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner Rick Elice, and based upon the iconic characters created by Charles Addams, THE ADDAMS FAMILY is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, and features an original story and a dilemma that’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. A modern musical comedy featuring a family we all know and love, Tri-Valley families will not want to miss out on this fabulous time at the theatre for all ages this January at The Bankhead.
Presenting The Addams Family, Tri-Valley Theatre Company (TVTC) is the continuing next act of Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre (a Resident Company of The Bankhead), whose commitment to bringing high-quality theatre to the community has continued to flourish. With Artistic Director Brian Olkowski continuing at the helm, along with a Board of Directors led by Glen Riggs as Board President, the company is carrying on, furthering its legacy of creating amazing musical theatre for enjoyment, enrichment, and involvement in the arts in the Tri-Valley with Tri-Valley Theatre Company. TVTC’s inaugural season in 2024 saw a nearly sold-out LEGALLY BLONDE The Musical and a thrilling production of Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN, kicking off TVTC’s first season in this new era on an exciting note. The second season in 2025 saw the totally tubular ROCK OF AGES and a full-musical magical production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA. Kicking off a third season in 2026 with this kooky family comedy, TVTC cannot wait to take audiences along on a thrilling ride for ‘one normal night’ with the Addams, a perfect show for families to enjoy together!
Collaborating with Tri-Valley Theatre Company is a continued joy at Livermore Valley Arts. “I personally haven’t seen the musical yet, but The Addams Family as a property I know, and this show is in great hands with TVTC at The Bankhead,” said LVA Director of Marketing Ruth Egherman. “From the glimpses we’ve gotten from the rehearsal room, I am certain this will be a fabulous time out for families to enjoy together. [Artistic Director] Brian Olkowski’s leadership, vision, and continued dedication to musical theatre in the Tri-Valley have really come through in the success of recent TVTC shows Legally Blonde, The Music Man, Rock of Ages, and Cinderella. We cannot wait to continue this journey in the new year with The Addams Family!”
