Travel across cultures and centuries in this hands-on art history class that blends learning with creating. Each session begins with a discussion of student work, followed by a lively look at a Non-Western art tradition—from Ancient Egypt to East African tribal arts, Chinese and Japanese brushwork, Islamic geometric design, and Indigenous art of the Americas and Australia. Students will then dive into related projects using authentic materials and techniques, building both an art portfolio and a deeper understanding of global creativity.
Class dates: 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28
