BIGGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR, OPENING NIGHT AT THE BANKHEAD
LIVERMORE, CA – (April 6, 2026) – Livermore Valley Arts is celebrating the start of the 2026—2027 season with American country singer-songwriter icon and actor Lyle Lovett, headlining its new annual fundraiser, Opening Night at the Bankhead, on Saturday, August 29, 2026. A four-time Grammy® Award winner who has been described as “the thinking man’s cowboy,” Lyle Lovett will delight the Tri-Valley with his soulful vocal talents and his unique blend of country, swing, folk, and jazz. The largest fundraising event of the year for Livermore Valley Arts, proceeds from this evening support activities at both the Bankhead Theater and the Bothwell Arts Center, as well as the independent nonprofit organization’s broad educational and cultural arts outreach. With his Americana catalog of impressive hits coupled with his distinctive storytelling and consistent artistic quality, Lyle Lovett has mesmerized audiences around the globe with his powerful voice and passionate stage presence. Now, he brings his star power to Opening Night at the Bankhead, promising an unforgettable night of music, magic, and memories.
A singer, composer, and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Lovett’s live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle Lovett has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. Among his many accolades, besides the four Grammy® Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award.

Opening Night at the Bankhead debuts on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as an unforgettable evening celebrating the Arts and our community. As LVA’s largest fundraiser of the year, this special event will feature an intimate performance by four-time Grammy® Award-winning artist Lyle Lovett, along with a live auction, raffle, and Fund-a-Need initiative supporting LVA’s Arts education outreach programs. Each ticket includes a welcome bubbly and hors d’oeuvres to kick off the evening, with both VIP and general admission experiences available. Following the performance, the celebration continues with a lively after-party on the Bankhead plaza. Guests are invited to dance the night away to a live band, enjoy a selection of tapas-style bites and desserts, and sip from a no-host bar offering a variety of beverages. Opening Night at the Bankhead is more than an event; it’s a vibrant evening of music, community, and giving back.
This upcoming season marks Livermore Valley Arts’ 20th Anniversary Season of programming, which will be announced later this month, and the organization is absolutely thrilled to kick off the 2026—2027 celebration and the season with this true music icon of an entertainer. Livermore Valley Arts offers a wide range of programs that provide access to the arts for the Tri-Valley community and beyond. Located in the heart of Downtown Livermore, the Bankhead Theater welcomes artists from diverse musical genres, as well as theater, dance, comedy, and other forms of entertainment suitable for all ages. The Bothwell Arts Center at 2466 Eighth Street is an arts incubator offering affordable studio, classroom, rehearsal, performance, and event space. Art exhibits curated by the Bothwell are on display year-round in the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at The Bankhead.
