ArtWalk Livermore Celebrates 25 Years of Art, Creativity, and Community
Annual ArtWalk returns October 10 with more than 200 artists & a new Chalk the Walk celebration
Livermore, CA – (October 2, 2026) Livermore Valley Arts invites the community to celebrate the 25th annual ArtWalk Livermore on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11am to 5pm in historic downtown Livermore. For 25 years, ArtWalk has transformed downtown Livermore into a vibrant, walkable celebration of visual art, bringing together artists, collectors, families, local businesses, and thousands of visitors for a single day of creativity and community. This year’s ArtWalk will feature more than 200 artists displaying their work throughout downtown, including sidewalks, plazas, parks, and galleries. Visitors will find an extraordinary variety of work, from contemporary to classical and abstract to realism, along with pottery, mixed media, handmade bags, ceramic garden art, jewelry, and much more. Artwork ranges from floral and landscape subjects to figurative work and everything in between.
“ArtWalk is one of those events that really captures the spirit of Livermore,” said Anne Giancola, Visual Arts and Education Manager for Livermore Valley Arts. “For 25 years, it has given people the opportunity to discover new artists, purchase original artwork, make art themselves, and simply enjoy spending the day together in downtown Livermore. It’s become a tradition for both our community and the artists who return year after year.”
A New Chalk Art Celebration
New this year, ArtWalk will be joined by Chalk the Walk, a vibrant chalk-art festival taking place in front of the Bankhead Theater. Professional and community chalk artists will transform the pavement into temporary works of art, adding another layer of creativity and visual excitement to the day. The new event is designed to encourage visitors to explore more of downtown while experiencing art in unexpected places.
“Chalk the Walk gives people another reason to stop, look, and engage with art,” Giancola said. “It’s also a wonderful way to connect the different areas of ArtWalk and encourage people to explore everything happening downtown.”
Art Around Every Corner
ArtWalk visitors can explore multiple destinations throughout downtown Livermore, including:
- Bankhead Plaza
- First Street between Maple Street and South Livermore Avenue
- Livermorium Park
- McLeod Street between First and Second Streets, with a food truck by the Lions Club Chuckwagon
- Chalk the Walk in front of the Bankhead Theater
- High School Art Display in the Bankhead Courtyard
The event encourages visitors to stroll from one location to the next, with ArtWalk surrounded by downtown’s boutique shops, wine tasting rooms, restaurants, and other local businesses.
In addition to browsing and purchasing artwork, visitors can meet artists, watch artists at work, and enjoy interactive arts activities and entertainment throughout the day.
A Livermore Tradition
ArtWalk has grown into one of the Tri-Valley’s signature one-day art festivals, while retaining its focus on creating opportunities for artists and making the arts accessible to the community. The 25th anniversary celebration is expected to bring thousands of visitors to downtown Livermore for a day that showcases the region’s creative energy and supports local artists, businesses, and the community.
See the Great Elephant Migration Opening Day
Saturday, October 10 is also the Opening Day of the Great Elephant Migration, a large scale temporary public art exhibit presented by Livermore Valley Arts and Three Thirty-Three Arts. Side by side with the artists on Bankhead Plaza will be part of the herd, with the rest of the herd on Stockmen’s Park.
The 25th Annual ArtWalk, presented by Livermore Valley Arts, is free and open to the general public; no reservations are required. The Bankhead Theater and Plaza are located at 2400 First Street in Downtown Livermore. This free community event is part of LVA’s core value and belief that everyone in the Tri-Valley should have the opportunity to experience the arts at whatever age and whatever level they are. The public is invited to share in this free afternoon and its accompanying events and activities—all are welcome—to celebrate both creativity and our community.
