The Beauty and the Fragility of Earth, On Display in a New Exhibit at Livermore Valley Arts

Livermore, CA – (July 25, 2025) – An insightful new exhibit, “Fragile Earth: A Call to Action,” will be on display this summer and early fall at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater from July 31 to October 19, 2025. This captivating and thought-provoking art exhibition illuminates the delicate balance of our planet’s ecosystems and the urgent need for environmental responsibility. Blending the emotional resonance of visual art with scientific understanding and grassroots advocacy, this powerful showcase invites reflection and response. Free and open to the public, the exhibit showcases work by local and regional artists across diverse media—including painting, sculpture, photography, and interactive installations—offering compelling interpretations of humanity’s impact on the natural world. Each piece serves as both a warning and a call to action, urging viewers to confront environmental challenges with open eyes and engaged hearts. Experience this powerful and timely exhibit in person at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater in Downtown Livermore, Thursdays through Sundays, 1 pm5 pm.* The Reception for “Fragile Earth” at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery is on Saturday, September 6, from 1 pm4 pm. The Reception will have an interactive art project that participants of all ages can help create. Quest Science Center will have representatives at the reception to talk about pertinent climate issues.

Excitingly, within “Fragile Earth,” Quest Science Center is collaborating with some of the exhibits, including unveiling a new interactive display that will focus on environmental art. Known as style transfer, the interactive exhibit will be a fun and educational cross of computer science and artistic styles, and appropriate for all ages to participate. Look for a new display by Makers Daycare and Quest Science that is a surprising twist on interactive art. Quest will also be sponsoring two pieces made by Caroline Powers-Robinson and Quest Science’s Tri-Valley Youth Climate Action Program (TVYCAP) Interns. Additionally thrilling, “Fragile Earth” will have a section of the exhibit that highlights student art created about eco-art, bringing forth younger talents from our community. Some of these pieces were even created in the Bothwell Arts Center art camps as recently as this summer.

More than an art exhibition, “Fragile Earth” stands as a visual testament to the planet’s beauty and fragility—and a rallying cry for meaningful change. Through the collective force of creativity, knowledge, and community, it aims to inspire hope and foster concrete steps toward a more sustainable future. Viewers will not want to miss this impactful exhibit this summer and early fall. The UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery is in the lobby of the beautiful Bankhead Theater at 2400 First Street, Livermore. “Fragile Earth: A Call to Action” is free and open to enjoy by ticketed patrons during performances and by the general public, Thursdays through Sundays, 1 pm5 pm, July 31 to October 19, 2025*, at the UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery. The public is invited to share in this gripping new exhibit, to discover in a unique way our legacy on this planet we call home, and inspire action for change.
