Advocate. Survivor. Speaker.
As part of our Rae Dorough Speaker Series, the remarkable Elizabeth Smart is coming to The Bankhead to share her story of resilience, hope, and advocacy, emerging from one of the most notorious child abduction cases in modern history. Abducted in 2002, Elizabeth endured nine months of captivity before being safely recovered. Since then, she has become a vocal advocate for child abduction prevention and legislative reform. Through her foundation and collaborations with the Department of Justice, she has championed initiatives like the National AMBER Alert and authored best-selling books such as “My Story.” Despite the darkness of her past, she exemplifies the possibility of finding joy and fulfillment after tragedy through the power of hope.
