CURRENT COVID-19 UPDATE

Published by Roberta Emerson

UPDATED: MONDAY MARCH 23, 2020

The Bankhead Theater and Bothwell Arts Center were officially closed on March 12, 2020  to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. This unprecedented action has affected more than two dozen events so far and with no confirmed end date yet, as artists continue to cancel and reschedule tours across the country. This is a very complex and ongoing process, but we want to let current ticket holders know their options and let everyone else know when specific shows will be returning.

If you have tickets for shows that have been cancelled or rescheduled, email boxoffice@lvpac.org or call and leave a message at 925-373-6800 and let us know what you’d like to do. You can: 1) keep the same seats for the rescheduled date, 2) donate the tickets back to Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center, 3) exchange them for a different show, or 4) receive a gift card or refund for the full amount. We appreciate your patience as we are working with a reduced staff and will process your request as soon as possible

More updates to this list will be announced as soon as we can confirm them.  If you have tickets to a show that has no updated information below, please check back. Unfortunately some tours, such as Mummenschanz (from Switzerland) and The Tap Pack (from Australia), have been officially cancelled. Other shows or films may not be rescheduled due to date conflicts or contract issues. We are very disappointed not to be able to present these and hope you will be able to join us for other events in the future instead.

The COVID-19 crisis is having an acute impact on artists and arts organizations and we are no exception. If you cannot attend, please consider donating your tickets. If you can make an additional donation of any size, it would be greatly appreciated (donate here). Your support and encouragement will make a substantial difference in our ability to come out of this stronger and keep sharing the joy of the arts in our community.

UPDATED : THURSDAY  MARCH 12, 2020

At Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center, the health and safety of our patrons and community is our highest priority.  In light of the latest information and guidelines from the State of California on COVID-19/Coronavirus and in conversation with our artists, we are cancelling all performances through the end of March effective immediately, March 12, 2020. The Bankhead Theater will be closed, including the Gallery. Box Office and administrative offices will operate with a reduced staff.

We are actively working to reschedule these events and will post updates as they are available. Ticket holders have been notified of the cancellations. For shows presented by Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center, we are modifying our current ticket refund policies to allow for the exchange of tickets for rescheduled dates, other future performances, or a gift card/credit. For performances presented by other organizations, we encourage you to contact them regarding their policies.

Tickets can also be donated back to the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center. These closures will have a significant impact on the artists and our organization. Your gift of any size is much appreciated and your support makes a difference during this time of tremendous uncertainty.

We do not take this action lightly and are sensitive to the impact on our patrons, artists, volunteers and staff.  For now this closure extends for just a few weeks. Curtailing public activities can contribute significantly to managing the spread of the virus. However, we are monitoring the situation continuously as it is rapidly evolving and will be sure to keep you informed of our plans via email and on our website. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In light of COVID-19 concerns, Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center wants to reassure all our patrons that extra measures are being taken to ensure your safety and health when attending events at the Bankhead Theater and Bothwell Arts Center. The following procedures have been implemented:

– Ushers will scan your tickets without taking them or with minimal handling.
– All seats and handrails in the Bankhead Theater will be disinfected after each event.
– All other surfaces in the Theater will be thoroughly and frequently wiped down.
– All chairs and surfaces at the Bothwell Arts Center will be wiped and disinfected after use.
– Hand sanitizer and tissues are available at both the Bankhead and Bothwell for your use.
– Both facilities will undergo more frequent and thorough scheduled cleanings.
– Staff and volunteers who are ill have been asked to stay home.

For the safety and well-being of our entire community, we encourage you to take standard precautions outlined by the World Health Organization including washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face with unwashed hands, and frequently disinfecting shared high-touch surfaces and objects.

If you are not feeling well and will not be attending a ticketed event, please contact the box office to let them know.

We are monitoring the situation carefully and considering what other measures might be necessary. Our patrons are our top priority. We take these procedures very seriously and hope that they will allow you to continue to enjoy events at the Bankhead Theater and Bothwell Arts Center in this time of significant health concern.
